Profit isn't missing - it's trapped. Either you can't see it, or you can't free it.

The books close weeks later. The accountant reports in the spring. Somewhere in between, decisions get made on numbers that are already old, and skilled people burn their days on work a system should be doing.

We build the eyes to see where profit is leaking, and the systems to stop the leak. We know it works because we run our own company this way, down to the day.

No deck on the first call. Just a conversation about where your money actually moves.

// which one are you

Here is the question that decides where we'd start with you

Do your reports already show you where the waste is?

Some operators genuinely don't know where they make or lose money. The data lives in five systems that don't talk, and the only honest answer arrives at tax time. Others can see the waste plainly - a team drowning in repeatable work, a process everyone knows is broken - but can't get free of the day-to-day long enough to fix it.

These are different problems. They get different first moves.

Not sure which you are? Most people aren't at first. Here's how we figure it out together

// the fork

Which one are you?

"I can't see it."

I don't actually know which parts of my business make money and which parts lose it. The numbers show up too late to act on. The data lives in five systems that don't talk, and the only honest answer arrives at tax time.

"I can see it. I can't fix it."

I know exactly where the time and money are going. What I don't have is the capacity or the systems to change it. A team drowning in repeatable work, a process everyone knows is broken.

How it works, in one scroll

  1. 1

    It starts as a conversation, not a pitch.

    We sit down and trace the money through your systems - where an order comes in, where the cost lands, where the hours go, how the financial story shows up in each tool along the way. We state our assumptions out loud and you correct them. The first artifact you get from us is a map of your data flow, and the whole point of the map is that you mark it up.

  2. 2

    Then we take one of two tracks.

    If you can't see the profit, we build the eyes first: pull the data into one place, clean it, give it one canonical shape, and put reporting on top that surfaces what's wrong instead of burying you in what's fine. If you can already see the waste, we go straight at freeing it - process fixes, automation, systems that absorb the repeatable work so your people can do the valuable work. Nobody gets laid off in this story. People get moved to the work that deserves them.

  3. 3

    Then it compounds.

    Fixing the biggest leak exposes the next one. That's not failure - that's the mechanism. Each round, more profit stays in the company or more capacity opens up to go earn it. The engagement is a standing monthly retainer, and it's built so that you can stop whenever the value stops. Customers stay because the compounding is real, not because a contract makes them.

// two stories, told properly

One firm couldn't see it. One couldn't free it.

the firm that does the books

Accounting firm

Our own accountants couldn't see their profitability in real time. Now they can - and they send us their clients.

An accounting firm - the people whose job is the numbers - was finding out once a year whether the year had worked. We built them the eyes. Then they started referring their own clients to us.

Daily

profit visibility - it used to be once a year

the team buried in repeat orders

Promotional-products company

35% of their orders ate 80% of their team's time. We gave the time back.

A promotional-products company had a skilled service team spending most of its capacity on small, repeatable orders. We built systems to absorb that work. The team didn't shrink - it moved to the bigger custom orders where the margin lives.

80%

of team time freed - it was going to just 35% of orders

// the third case study

We run on this ourselves.

Before we sold any of this, we built it for ourselves.

Our own company runs on real-time numbers - revenue, cost, and net profit tracked daily, not reconstructed at quarter end. When we show a customer a dashboard, we're showing them the same discipline we live under.

// the standard

I want to know what our revenue and net profit is every day, not six weeks from now.

// the standard

That standard is the product. Everything we build for customers is a version of what we refused to live without.

// the founders

ProfitFinder is two operators with complementary obsessions.

James Shaw - the see-it lens.

Real-time visibility, warnings instead of reports, cash discipline measured by the hour. When our accountant asked whether his figures matched hers, his answer was, verbatim: “My numbers are better than your numbers.”

Real-time not six weeks later
Meet the Founders

Andy Siemer - the free-it lens.

Systems, process, and AI that absorb repeatable work. When a customer proposed ripping out their ERP as step one, his answer was: “I definitely wouldn't start there.” Smaller first moves, proven, then the next one.

// who picks up

You'd be talking to one of these two on the first call.

Not a salesperson. A founder who has traced this exact money flow before.

Start the conversation

// the first move

The first thing we make together is a map.

First pass is a map of your data flow - you correct it. That correction is the whole point. It tells us both, cheaply and quickly, whether there's trapped profit worth going after and which track would free it. If the map says there isn't much there, we'll tell you that too.

One call. No deck. You'll leave knowing which of the two problems you have.
